In 2012, 6,029 car drivers were killed or seriously injured. You would think that statistically this would mainly apply to 17 – 19 year olds. In fact this age category only accounted for 8%.
Drivers aged between 20 and 29 accounted for 25%, and 30 to 59 year olds accounted for 42%.
It is never too late to take some refresher lessons, so give us a call today and have a confidential chat about your own driving abilities and what can be done to improve them. Ring today, it could save your life (or someone else’s).
During my years as a Driving Instructor, it has become apparent that there are an increasing number of pupils who ask their parents to take them out in their own car. This experience can prove invaluable thus increasing general confidence when attending the Driving Test.
In many cases, pupils decide to take the driving test in their own car, which is perfectly acceptable providing the car is roadworthy and the insurance company have been notified. However, it is often the case where the parents teach their children differently to the way the Driving Instructor has taught them, which can often cause tension between pupil and parent.
The Driving Test has changed substantially over the years, and with the best will in the world, many parents will have picked up bad habits since sitting the test many years ago. For this reason alone, we have many requests for Refresher Courses from People who wish to drive to a higher standard, and iron out any bad habits they have developed over the years.
Many have also gone on to take Advanced Driver Qualifications, details of which can be found in the relevant section of this website.
Refreshers Courses have also been requested from people whom:
- Have not driven for a number of years.
- Lack confidence with the ever increasing number of drivers on the road
- New road infrastructures that are difficult to understand
- Driven abroad for a number of years and used to driving on the opposite side of the road
- Parents wanting to teach their children correctly to conform to the expectations required to pass the current driving test.
- Wanting to improve their overall driving standards
These Courses are tailor made to each person’s requirements and are best taken in 2-hour sessions.
